Our leadership team has years of experience working with some of the world's largest retailers and wholesalers, a deep understanding of global markets and a commitment to excellence. Together with the management team of QA/QC, Design, Product Development and Sourcing professionals across Asia, Sertus brings a network of experience for its clients to leverage.

David Bennett

Partner

David is a founding member of Sertus and has been living and working in Asia for over 30 years. David currently resides in Hong Kong but has lived in Taipei, Taiwan, and Shanghai, China, and he is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. David lived and worked in Taiwan for 8 years, including 3 years at the Canadian Embassy, and also 3 years as a Marketing Manager at Microstar International, one of the top 5 computer mainboard companies in the world. Previous to the founding of Sertus, David was a partner at Diversitech Holdings Ltd., a manufacturing company that specialized in hand tools, and sold to multiple large retailers around the globe.

The bulk of David’s China experience involves Supply Chain Management, sourcing, quality control, logistics, and problem resolution. David is directly responsible for all of the company’s China operations and supplier relations. In addition, he has oversight for all sourcing, design, assembly and packaging activities, coordinating with our facilities in China and Vietnam. David studied Mandarin Chinese at Cheng Gong University, Taiwan, and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western, Ontario, Canada.

Jay Peirce

Partner

Jay Peirce is a founding member of Sertus and was previously a Director of Diversitech Holdings Ltd.. Latin America, a hardlines manufacturing company that sold to retailers throughout the world. He has focused much of his 30+ year career on global emerging markets and has extensive experience in international trade. Jay oversees logistics and operations of Sertus LLC, including finance and administration. Jay also has direct sales and marketing responsibilities for North and Latin America.

Prior to starting Sertus, Jay advised governments, companies and banks on debt restructurings, infrastructure projects, debt capital markets issues, and structured finance. He has held a number of senior management positions within the capital markets division of Standard Bank as well as Standard Chartered Bank and First Interstate. Jay is fluent in Spanish and has a background in sales, marketing, finance, research, and training and development and is a Board member of several companies and non-profits that are doing business in the US and Latin America. He is Chartered Financial Analyst and has an Ms from ITAM (Finance) and BA from Brown University (Economics, International Relations).

Aaron Slater

Partner

Aaron is a founding member of Sertus LLC and a former Director of Diversitech Holdings Ltd North America. Aaron manages many of the business development aspects of Sertus. Aaron also has direct sales and marketing responsibilities for the USA and manages its sporting goods division. Aaron has oversight for Sertus’ Investment Committee. He has been involved in trade between China and the Americas for over twelve years. During that time Aaron has worked with clients to develop private label programs and contract manufacturing assignments in categories such as hunting, archery, hockey and golf.

These projects include mutiple nationally known brands being sold at the largest retailers in North America and Europe. Prior to that Aaron had over sixteen years of experience in Corporate Finance and Merchant Banking at Standard Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and NationsBanc Montgomery Securities where he was involved in over US $5 billion in transactions. Mr. Slater holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Miami.
